Two-factor authentication is cool again!
“RSA, while dominant, is far from alone in the tokenless OTP market. You can get similar products from companies like PhoneFactor, Arcot, Vasco, SecurEnvoy, PortWise, and FireID. These will all get the job done adequately but they are being challenged by some new innovations. And Now, the Cool Stuff...”

SyferLock Technology Corporation Releases MySyferLock™, an OpenID & Cloud Access Security Solution, Delivering the Most Secure Knowledge Based Authentication
System Featuring Device-less, Zero Footprint One Time Passwords for OpenID Users
Shelton, CT -- May 18, 2011 SyferLock Technology Corporation (www.SyferLock.com) is pleased to
announce the release of its patented enhanced authentication system and methodology to the OpenID
platform. The authentication system allows users the ability to login to their OpenID enabled accounts
with higher security, device-less, zero footprint One Time Passwords utilizing one of the, if not the most
secure knowledge based authentication systems currently available. SyferLock's MySyferLock™ product
delivers a huge increase in security and protection over the predominantly used static passwords, which
are extremely vulnerable to many forms of attack. MySyferLock™ creates a more secure access gateway to
the cloud and OpenID.
SyferLock's MySyferLock™ system is an OpenID technology
where the user still remembers and leverages their existing
static password, but when the OpenID user registers using
MySyferLock™, the user creates a transparent multi-token
authentication scheme that has the user input and transmit
their password as a true one time password through
MySyferLock™'s patented security grid user interface. Key
to MySyferLock™ users is that they now have the option for
more secure cloud access - universal access using deviceless,
zero footprint one time passwords to login to their
favorite OpenID enabled web sites and portals versus using
an easily compromised static password. "The security, ease, self-service, flexibility and adaptability of
MySyferLock™ is unparalleled in the authentication market,
and what is available to OpenID users" says Paul Sitar,
Founder and President of SyferLock. "There now is a more
secure gateway to the cloud."
Mr. Sitar further adds "SyferLock has chosen
to release our MySyferLock™ offering
through one of the world's premier OpenID
providers, Clavid AG (http://www.clavid.com).
Clavid's innovation and leadership made
them a clear choice as a partner in releasing
our secure gateway to the cloud system." Based in Switzerland, Clavid provides
authentication and OpenID provider services
to SaaS applications. The Clavid
authentication service supports multiple
authentication methods, such as password,
certificates and smart cards, and biometrics. "The MySyferLock™ system and its method of
utilizing a static password, but making it a
more secure, device-less, zero footprint one
time password has added a unique and new
capability to the Clavid OpenID service we
offer. Compared to other, knowledge based,
strong authentication methods,
MySyferLock™ provides unmatched simplicity
for end-users" states Robert Ott, CFO and
Security Evangelist at Clavid AG.

SyferLock Technology Corporation Bolsters Its Existing Security Offerings with Superior 2 Factor Authentication via GridSoftToken™
Southport, CT -- January 12, 2011 - SyferLock Technology Corporation (www.SyferLock.com) has now complemented and augmented its enhanced authentication products with an additional, true 2 factor authentication technology solution called GridSoftToken™. With the addition of this superior "soft token" solution, SyferLock truly covers the entire authentication spectrum, as well as the myriad of diverse and evolving use cases and business requirements challenging the security and account access of organizations and their users.
SyferLock's GridSoftToken™ is a software-based token technology that allows a user to lock their account access to a specific machine or device. GridSoftToken™ is easily installed and self-serviced through SyferLock's Security Center, and once installed delivers organizations superior security through true 2 factor authentication, as well as the added security of one time password/PIN generation added to the existing username and the existing password. GridSoftToken™ delivers true 2 factor authentication, and helps achieve critical security requirements and compliance mandates from such regulations as PCI, FFIEC, SOX, GLB and others.
Where SyferLock and its unique patented technology and methodology are superior, is that the additional critical security benefit of greater "user" authentication is delivered (in addition to device-level authentication) by the use of GridSoftToken™. Where other tokens generate and display the access code, password or PIN in the clear, SyferLock's GridSoftToken™ displays a security User Interface that further requires a multi-token, knowledge-based authentication scheme for secure login. Lost devices and attempts for unauthorized computer use are further protected by this unique aspect of GridSoftToken™ helping organizations address these security threats as well.
SyferLock's GridSoftToken™, and its various other solutions, ranging from device-less one time password generation to a 2 factor/multi-factor authentication configurations, provide extremely low TCO, user friendly self-service administration, and superior security protection which make SyferLock a great alternative available to help organizations implement and achieve their security initiatives. Whether "universal" or "strict" access is necessary, SyferLock delivers unparalleled security and flexibility.
SyferLock Technology and the Cyber Warfare Forum Initiative form Strategic Alliance...
September 4, 2009 Southport, CT - SyferLock Technology is proud to announce that the company has formed a
strategic alliance with the Cyber Warfare Forum Initiative (CWFI), a collaboration portal whose mission is to
promote Cyber Warfare awareness within the U.S Military, U.S Government, U.S private companies and U.S Citizens.
The CWFI mission is extended to all U.S allies all over the world with the intent of guarding our cyber
freedoms and protecting our way of life. CWFI promotes innovation, unity and collaboration of various cyber
security communities of interest all over the world. The CWFI mission will be accomplished by active engagement
of our team members in the fields of education (conferences and training), information sharing (forums, reports
and news) and partnerships with the military, government and private sector. CWFI invites all to join their fight
for a safer cyberspace where confidentiality, integrity and availability rest assured. Under one umbrella of
collaboration and knowledge, the CWFI members can make a difference.
SyferLock identified that the CWFI's portal was engaging their members, and teams of their members, under this one
umbrella and that information sharing was a key facet to their mission. SyferLock wanted to enhance the portal's
authentication from a static password to a more secure one time password (OTP). The challenges for the CWFI portal
were a geographically dispersed global membership, the possible need to login from different computers by individual
members, and the fact that the CWFI portal is a not-for-profit organization with real budget constraints. Taking
the business requirements into consideration, SyferLock has provided the CWFI portal with their GridOne™
enhanced authentication solution which allows the CWFI members to leverage and use their existing portal passwords,
but have them input and transmitted as true OTPs delivering much greater end point security and accounts access for
their worldwide member base. The GridOne™ system is completely deviceless for the OTP generation allowing an
extremely cost effective security solution to be deployed, and the security UI's have been initially configured
allowing for 10+ different languages for the CWFI membership to use. In addition, the GridOne™ solution is
completely zero footprint (no need to download or install any additional software) allowing the members to be
afforded the same security from any machine they use to login to the CWFI portal.
"The CWFI portal's mission and values are completely inline with SyferLock's mission to help create a safer cyberspace
where confidentiality, integrity and availability are rest assured" says Paul Sitar, CEO of SyferLock Technology.
"Understanding how the portal wanted to grow and what some of the challenges would be in providing a more secure
place to meet for the CWFI members, SyferLock was eager to deploy the GridOne™ portal solution to help them."
Sitar further adds, "SyferLock views the CWFI as a critical tool in creating a more secure cyberspace, and not only
to do I believe in what the CWFI is doing as an officer of SyferLock, but as an individual who co-owns
www.cyberterrorism.com. I applaud the CWFI and will continue to support them in any way that I can."
Lastly, both the CWFI and SyferLock would like to thank both GoDaddy.com and Central Desktop for working very closely
with our organizations to get the portal and infrastructure in place for the strategic alliance to happen.
